Support the film sparking conversations across generations.

Just Beginning is more than a film—it’s a movement.
A powerful, soul-stirring journey that dares older adults and multigenerational communities to reimagine what’s possible when purpose leads the way.

At its heart are older adult protagonists, not fading into the background, but stepping boldly into center stage—uncovering meaning, reclaiming identity, and modeling what it looks like to live fully, freely, and on purpose.

This pilot film weaves deeply human, emotionally rich stories that spark reflection across generations—igniting buried passions, surfacing untold dreams, and healing wounds long carried in silence.

Why is this important?

Nearly half (47%) of adults ages 18-plus are concerned about being able to maintain a sense of purpose and relevance in retirement, including 41% of retirees. Yet, roughly the same proportion of retired adults (46%) admit they never gave any thought to planning for their personal fulfillment during retirement (i.e., things that make one happy) and four in ten nonretired adults (41%) don’t know when they will start focusing on it. (AARP 2024).

“For those of us in our platinum years, hitting 70, it’s time to ask: if we’re searching for purpose, maybe we need to be disruptors. And perhaps, it all starts with this film.”
